At Build Change, Monica Schroeder works to elevate the issue of resilient housing and prevention of housing loss in global policy forums and conferences with a variety of stakeholders.

Prior to joining Build Change, Monica managed the implementation of democracy and governance programs in over 15 countries and advised nonprofit organizations on the design and implementation of advocacy campaigns on issues such as environmental pollution, anti-corruption, free and fair elections, and women’s political participation. Monica has advanced policy reform for inclusive, sustainable, and equitable societies at all levels, from community guidelines to national-level legislation.

Monica holds a Master’s in Government from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages and Literature from the University of Notre Dame. She speaks Spanish, French, and Italian.
