Martina Will

Martina Will joins Build Change after decades in the nonprofit world. Following a career in higher education, she shifted to grant writing for large and small nonprofits across multiple sectors including education, conservation, healthcare, and immigrant and refugee services. She most recently served as the Senior Grant Writer with National Jewish Health in Denver and as the Development and Communications Manager with the Village Exchange Center in Aurora, Colorado. Her work with Build Change represents an opportunity to build the organization’s international presence.

A former college professor, Martina is the author and editor of numerous books and articles on Latin American history, and this historical lens informs her understanding of systemic inequities and social change. Martina earned her doctorate from the University of New Mexico, her M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of California, San Diego, and her B.A. in history and German from the University of Virginia. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and German. Her interests include research, writing, social justice, and salsa music.
