Manuela Pinilla Rodriguez combines her training in urban development and international cooperation with her background in anthropology to take a human approach to solving social and economic challenges. Over the course of the last decade, she has worked on both the national and international levels to improve access to water for hygiene and sanitation, as well as in post-disaster response, land rights and housing access. Prior to joining Build Change, she was the Colombia Country Director for WaterAid, and also worked for the Huairou Comission, where she expanded the organization’s reach to eight countries throughout the Latin America and Caribbean region. She also previously worked in the resettlement program for disaster risk reduction at the Caja de la Vivienda Popular. Manuela holds Master’s degrees from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany), and Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata” (Italy).
