Lucía is an International Relations specialist by profession and a Housing Expert by passion. Her professional efforts have been directed towards tackling the technical, financial, normative, and governance-related challenges within the housing sector, particularly in the implementation of homeowner-driven approaches. Prior to joining Build Change, Lucía oversaw the execution of over a thousand customized housing projects through technical assistance in Mexico. As an international consultant, her focus encompassed aspects like housing affordability, habitat development, and community organization for housing, predominantly in Latin America and Southeast Asia.
Lucía holds a Master’s in Urban Management and Development with specialization in Urban Housing, Equity and Social Justice from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) in Rotterdam and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). She speaks Spanish, English, and Portuguese fluently.
